"Light in the Dark" is a journey through an atmospheric dreamscape, navigating the mysteries of the heart, the wild unknowns of human emotion. Vocal effects harken the sound of consciousness, as if speaking to the listener from deep inside their own mind, from a deep, cavernous, rarely-touched place within.

The whole album is an exploration in dichotomies - the hard and the soft, the steady and the chaotic, both in its instrumentation and in its lyricism. Like the vulnerable emotional experiences it narrates, the album is multidimensional, layered, and textured, blending the light and the dark, the hard and the soft, the steady and the chaotic, expressing a full and complex range of truths - and talents.

The architecture of each song feels like a journey unto itself, with the ultimate discovery being an arrival at “the truth in you,” as “Temporary Vessel” explores - a slide into darkness and a climb toward light; a measured walk through control and breathless sprint toward total release.

In yet another dichotomy, the album artfully blends beat-driven, futuristic electronic instrumentation with the earnest, vulnerable, and deeply human lyrics, as best felt in “Dying Business,” noting that the task of being human in an often soulless world - being seen as a person and not a “policy holder” - can feel like a dying business.

Whatever this world may be lacking in soul and humanity, The Wormholes' "Light in the Dark" has both in spades. All at once wild and measured, soothing and stirring, "Light in the Dark" takes the listener by hand to explore the unpredictable wilderness of their own human spirit.

The recording is best heard as an organic whole, the lyrics evoking a listener’s inner flow of emotions and thoughts. Influences for this music – which the artists describe as electronic, ethereal/ambient and psychedelic – include The Flaming Lips, Tame Impala, Radiohead, Phantogram, Glass Animals, Jon Hopkins, Bonobo and many more.
